myswim ::: About Us
A word from the owners
Chris first started coaching in 1980 at the Doug Frost Swim School at Padstow. He coached many great swimmers including the most famous of all, Ian Thorpe. Chris was at Padstow for 20 years before leaving there to start his own business.
Chris and Cathy began Chris Myers Swim School in 2000 at Blacktown Aquatic Centre, and in 2005 at Smithfield. This year we have changed our name to Myswim.
Chris has a silver swim coaching licence and has coached local, state, national and international athletes, from development carnivals to World Championships events.
Chris was also head coach of the Sydney South West Academy Sport and NSW head swim coach – Bronze Squad, Silver Squad, and Gold Squad. Chris is also on the Board of directors for ASCTA (Australian Coaches and Teaching Association). Since taking over at Blacktown, Chris has coached Blacktown Swimming Club from 17th place to 3rd place in the state.
Cathy has been involved in the swimming industry for the past seven years. She has her Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certificates. Cathy teaches infants, pre-school, school age, adults and people with disabilities.
Chris and Cathy believe that teaching your child to swim is the most important skill that you can give your child. Learning how to swim is essential for your child to enjoy a fun and safe experience in and around water. Being associated with Swim Australia and Austswim, we endeavour to ensure that your experience is an enjoyable one.
